Betaalbaar is a privacy-focused bill management app. We believe your financial data should stay on your device. The app has no backend server, no user accounts, and no analytics. Your invoices, payment details, and personal information never leave your iPhone unless you explicitly choose to export or share them.
Betaalbaar does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This includes:
Betaalbaar requests access to your camera and photo library solely to capture or import invoice images for scanning. These images are processed on-device and stored locally. They are never uploaded to any server.

What data is sent to Anthropic: When you scan a bill with Claude enabled, the app sends invoice images (as compressed JPEG) to Anthropic's API. These images may contain personal and financial information visible on the invoice, such as names, addresses, IBAN numbers, amounts, and invoice numbers. No other data from your device is sent.
How data is used: The images are sent solely to extract structured bill data (creditor name, IBAN, amount, dates). Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy. Betaalbaar does not use Anthropic's services for any other purpose.
Your control: You must explicitly opt in to use Claude by selecting it as your AI provider and accepting the data-sharing consent dialog. You can switch back to Apple Intelligence at any time, which processes everything on-device with no external communication.
All app data is stored in your device's local app container. Data is protected by iOS's built-in encryption and your device passcode. You can export your data at any time using the backup feature, and delete all data by removing the app.
Betaalbaar sends local notifications to remind you of upcoming and overdue bill payments. These notifications are scheduled entirely on-device and do not involve any push notification server.
Betaalbaar is not directed at children under the age of 13. The app does not knowingly collect any information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
